Suz from Aussie Scrap asked me a little while back if I'd share with them a project done in the white tones, I'm so addicted to, using product available from them. I was the lucky last for this year in thier 'Trends Post', shared on Mondays.

7 Gypsies Photo Stand

I've been meaning to start this project for a while now and have also been wanting to get back into my scrapbooking and this seem like a good way to start. I completed the front and the inside will be a work in progress. It will consist of small layouts approx A5 size. I used the 7 Gypsies Journal Pages – Antiquarian as a base for these pages. I did have to trim down the sides a fraction to fit into the 7 Gypsies 5”x7” Vertical Refills. So I'll try and share a layout each time I do one.

Here's the first few to kick it off.

I thought it would be nice to mix a few quotes amongst the pages as well.

Thought I'd share how I painted the metal pieces. The ones used in project are by Tim Holtz.
I just use normal acrylic paint, I use about 3 to 4 coats and add heat with the heat gun in-between coats to set it. I only recommend this for pieces that are not going to be knocked or touched often.

Once its dry I take to the piece with some sand paper and a blunt craft knife to expose the words and the edges.

Here to expose the raised surface.

Sand and scrape as much or as little as you like.

Once Upon a Vintage Christmas

Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine published my Christmas project for this year, with instructions. Thanks guys, the photos look awsome. It's now available.

As you can see I'm still hooked on white, vintage white and I'll share some other projects I've been working on lately, done in the same tones. Along with some 'How - to's' to go along with them.

Well as I always say 'Time Flies'. I've had the longest break from blogging, ever. Life has been full in those three months.
We've had all the usual family gatherings - Birthdays, school sports, new additions (a puppy in this case), school holiday activities and the unusual, in this case I was such a proud Mum of Liam as one of the short films he was involved in was shown at the cinema, the Paradiso Perth.

My creative mojo took a long break and is slowly returning. So I hope to share more real soon.
There's been lots of thinking and soul searching...
You know what I've missed over the last year or so?? - my 'soul food', my Art for Art Sake. I had stopped creating 'just because'. I'm sure a lot of you can relate to this.
The realisation came about July and was well and truly cemented in the last few weeks. I truly believe the universe works in wonderful ways.
I'd been asked to create some kits for a group of beautiful ladies who had a small retreat/camp organised in July. I created the kits and a week prior to the retreat I decided that I needed a break and if there was a spare spot I would join the ladies and teach the class on the Friday night. Well lucky me, Kaye the lady who organises camp welcomed me with open arms and what a weekend. This camp was organised to a T. The company of beautiful like minded ladies was the best thing, everyone was lovely and I got to spend some quality girl time with a bunch of my favourite Busselton girls ;0)
The food was just divine and OMGosh!! we just seemed to eat and eat and eat (not complaining here though LOL)
The moment I drove off the main highway onto the road leading to camp, it was like a weight was lifted. Driving through the hilly green surrounds was instant relaxation, I knew no matter how busy I was and how much work there was waiting at home I'd made the right decision to go.

I joined the girls, unpacked the most important things first, my tote and creative supplies, found our sleeping arrangements and guess what? I got to sleep with my favourite Busselton girls too,,,, well sleep near them. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and that's all I need, we spent most of the time in a bright roomy hall creating to our hearts content. I loved every minute of it.
I arrived on Friday afternoon and come Sunday afternoon when it was time to go home I wanted to tie myself to the table - I didn't want to leave LOL
Along with creating your own things, there was small classes to participate in if you wished also,,,,I'm a terrible student,,, I'm sure it's the perfectionist in me,,, but I rarely finish class projects. I did get a couple finished. These classes are taught by some of the girls who attend, who actually take the time to create a project at home and then share it at camp, there was a little kit provided for each project and lots of ideas shared, thanks so much girls.

The surroundings and scenery was perfect, the sunsets sublime. All these re-afirming that I should take a breath and slow down.

For those of you that know me and how I create will know it takes me forever to get the mojo going when I sit to create and another reason why I wanted to tie myself to the table and not leave on Sunday afternoon was I was in the flow. :0)
So this little project is a work in progress, under construction. But here's some sneak peeks,

Lucky for me I'm returning for the next camp in a couple of weeks and I can't wait.

I'm looking forward to adding to the project I started last time and you never know, I might surprise myself and finish. I'm so looking forward to catching up with all the girls for a fun filled weekend.

It definitely seems to be the story of my life, time,,,,,,where does it go??
Life in the Underwood house has been full on as usual, well for me LOL. I'm sure the rest of the family is coasting along as usual, not a care in the world, isn't that the way it is for most Mum's???

I've been spending most of my time working on 'Your Creative Wings' new projects and new products, trying to find different little things for the shop. I love it when I find something that isn't so common, like a charm or a lace or braid and even laser cuts, there be lots more new ones of them soon ;o)

One whole month, OMGoodness!!!! Long time no blog. I've been busy,,, really I have LOL!! So you know what that means,,,,, one looonnnnnggggg post,,sorry :O)you might like to grab a cuppa.
Well SIA has been and gone :O(
I had a great time catching up with the girls I've met through this wonderful craft and even my creative Facebook friends who happened to attend the event. It was a great sucess for Julie from Collections and that was the main reason I was there. The Make'n'Takes went down well once again. We did spools of various sizes and the new mannequin with the new wings, which you could make into a name tag pin if you wished.
The photos I took aren't great,,, I so need a new camera!!! :O) But hey, it's all about the memories.
I didn't get the camera out as much as I would of liked, here some shots.

The Crop Night
There was a social crop night on the Wednesday night instead of a formal dinner and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Ngarie and I enjoy a beautiful bottle of Red from Kareena *mwah* and everyone got down and actually did some creating. One side of the table did spools while the other did some white vintage creating. Paula, Deb, Ngarie and myself(not that I did much)created spools.

They had challenges on during the evening. I don't know how the people who joined in did it, I have trouble creating in a group let alone a 5 minute challenge to create a card. The girls were up first, I was to busy cheering them on to get a pic and then the boys, yes the boys :O)That was hysterical to watch.

There was lots of WA girls at SIA this year which was great and such a laugh. Miss Gloria had a bit of trouble during her last class and insisted something was crawling on her. But of course nothing could be seen. It wasn't until pack up time Lorriane discovered this little guy on Gloria's chair.

Poor little guy, he looks some what dazed and confused!!!!! :O)

We spent some lovely down time with some of the girls, dinner at a beautiful Thai restaurant.(Julie M, I need to get some photos from you LOL)sorry didn't do the camera thing opps!
On the last day the two Julies and myself stayed at a hotel in China Town in the city and got to do the touristy thing.

The girls found the best make-up shop, my goodness they got some bargains.

While they got lost in the piles of make-up I found this little gem.

A gorgeous little fob watch, which I plan to add to, one of these days.

After Paddy's Markets we had to get our bearings and Miss Julie didn't hesitate to ask a local.

We took the Monorail to Darling Harbour.

Off to see the sites

It was the most perfect weather.

Then we realised if we were going to get to one of the places we really wanted to get to that day, we needed to get going, food first of course then Ron Hardys for some goodies.
"Wait for me!!!"

We had a yummy lunch at a little bar, harbour side.
Julie M and I shared a BLT

and Julie V went for a Noodle Salad. Yum!

Then we caught a Taxi to the best Jewellery finding place I've found to spend some mula! I got some goodies for myself, for kits and to sell on Your Creative Wings so they will be up this week some time.

The best part of the whole trip was this -

Collection Elements won Wholesaler of the Year. Congratulations Julie, you deserve it.

Congratulations to the other WA girls for their awards.

Yey WA!!!

I can't go with out sharing some creative goodies.
I'm organising my scrap lace, ribbon and braid etc. I just happen to have some large metal rings which are perfect for holding the new Flat Spools from Collections. I've decorated the spools and added the scraps of trim I like to use often.
I made this one for Julie on Thursday night when we had a little impromptu creative session, but it will give you an idea of how they can look. I used the Cream and Black range from Collections, along with Cuttlebug-ing some and white washing them.

Here's a peek at a class I'm doing at Made with Memories on the 19th of this month. It's a big class, but well worth it. If you love the Tiles, you will love this one, it's made up of 3", 2" and 1" tiles from Collections. Once put together it's a 12' x 12' piece using lots of new Collections products especially the new Sepia paper range. Or this could be a start to a larger tile project, to be framed or set on a large canvas.

Last peeks

Well girls and boys if there are any that check out my blog now and again. I'm off to Sydney today for SIA. Thought I'd share just one last peek.

I've got to tell you the butterflies are a fluttering in my tummy as I type. I'm so excited about the week to come. One part of me knows it's lots of hard work and the other part can't wait to work, play and catch up with some of my creative friends. Hopefully I have lots of photos to share next week.

I'm leaving the rest of the Underwoods in the house in charge of themselves and the house, God only knows what I'll come back to LOL. I just hope poor old Pip gets enough attention.

I thought I'd share this as a proud Mum.
Locky had to write a poem for school as part of their ANZAC day studies.He had to read it out at assembly on Friday. It brought a tear to my eyes and gave me goosebumps. Well done Locky I'm so proud of you. A great effort for a 12yr old.

On ANZAC Cove the flag held high,
As the brave men around me die,
Is this the end? Have I failed?
NO! I can't lose, I must prevail!

Peeks that is...

School went back this week after a two week break. I love school holidays!! Although it does mean that any form of routine I have goes out the window.
Back to it this week, ;O)

My creative mojo is buzzing at the moment, thanks to Julie from Collections. She has designed the most beautiful products in time for SIA an event for Scrapbook retailers in Australia, held in Sydney each year and I've been lucky to go each year with Julie to represent Collections Elements.
I haven't had to much time to blog and the things I've been creating for Collections can't really be shared properly until after SIA, but I can now share some sneak peeks, I'll be back with some more as soon as I get a chance to do some editing.

I've also been busy designing some new kits for Your Creative Wings, a couple have a Family theme to them and would be ideal Mothers Day gifts.

School holidays here in WA next week and the week after, I love school holidays. I know,, I can hear some of you cringe,,,. I love how there is no rush in the mornings and the days are less of a routine, just take the day as it comes. I'm lucky though with only 1 child home compared to some of you with lots more.

that storm that hit Perth on Monday. Like everyone else, I was amazed, I did get some video along 99.9% of Perth. The editing has a lot to be desired, I was running around at times with the camera still on when it was just facing the door etc and the language in it at the beginning had a lot to be desired LOL,,, I was excited, surprised etc. I won't put you through my videoing but thought I'd share one Liam did.
Him and his mates definitely put a smile on my face when I see what they've been up too!!! Quite often when I see what they've been up to I'll naturally go into 'MUM' mode!! you know the little 'OMGoodness,,,ouch!!, I can't believe it, etc' might even have to add some 'oh Liam you shouldn't have'. But usually in the end I have a good laugh.

Poor Locky he's tired of people talking about it,,,he feels he missed out. He was at a friends for a play and in a shopping center at the time and he missed it all. Then what he could of been up to with his big bro afterwards didn't help the fact either. ;0)

The world turns green,,LOL
Thought I'd share a childhood memories with you. :0)
St Patrick's Day parade 1973(I think). That's me and my sister in the center, sitting high up on a window sill of one of the old buildings in Dublin city. I'm pretty sure Mum and Dad never missed a parade with us, this particular day our neighbours got to come with us. The girls were much older and bolder than us and hoisted themselves up onto the sill for the best vantage point.

Well you can tell by the 'pleased as punch' Look on my face (on the left)that I was more than happy being handed up to the girls by by Dad to watch the parade.

New Year, new adventures.
Well I've had a full house and a full calender so far this year. Busy, Busy. Erin moved back home for a couple of weeks, that was a couple of months ago LOL. I love that girl dearly but she hasn't quite got her Mum's perfectionist's streak, now I know that is a good thing sometimes, but when it comes to being organised and clean she could do with a bit more of the streak. Good news for Locky though, she's got a place and moves tonight, the poor kid has had a mattress on the floor since she moved in and tonight he gets his own bed back and I get some mess cleared away. LOL (love U Erin ;0)
Most of you lovely ladies who follow my blog will know I've been working really hard with Maxine at Wednesdays Wishes, well we've had big changes there. We decided to do Wednesdays Wishes x 2,,,, well sort of. We're branching out on our own adventures, it has all worked out beautifully and we are very excited with the future. We will still do some teaching gigs together and occasionally design a kit together. My new venture is Your Creative Wings very similar to Wednesdays Wishes except, I get to work from home now and Max from hers, she even gets to save teabags, toilet paper and even a bit of liquid soap LOL.
I haven't gone live just yet, but it's all happening real soon, so stay tuned.

Wired Up

Been playing with some wire again, love using wire and beads etc. This little piece has some bits and bobs from Wednesdays Wishes. Another little piece of Art for Arts Sake, just the way I love to do things.

the Birdcage is made from bangles wired to a A5 canvas board.

Perth is heading for some real hot weather over the next few days, I'm not a fan of hot weather at all. So I won't be moving around to much. Luckily my craft are is air conditioned ;0) Hopefully if all goes well that's where I'd like to spend most of my time during the heat.

I blinked and December disappeared,,,,The last month of last year was full on, as it is for most people at this time of year.
We celebrated my Dads 70th with a suprise family dinner at Hillary's Boat Harbour here in Perth, what a beautiful night it was.

Now I have no trouble getting myself out of the house on time, but when it comes to getting all of us out on time, well that's another story. Much to the rest of my family's suprise ;0) we made it on time and beat Dad there, this is him spotting us at the restaurant.

Good company.
Good Food.

Good wine.

We had Rick's work Christmas party and presentation night and another suprise. Rick recieved this for a new parenting program he introduced to the prison.

And Christmas, which for me was one of the most relaxing one's I've had in a long time.

Loads of fun.

Nurf Guns were a hit this year.

Well the trees packed away, along with the decorations. All evidence, bar the extra kilos and the odd Christmas chocolate stocking remanents, are gone.

But I'm sure, if last year is anything to go by, Christmas 2010 will be knocking on our doors before we know it.

Well I'm finally starting to feel a little relaxed about Christmas preparations. Still got to do the grocery shop and a couple of small pressies. I hope you're not to stressed and your plans are falling into place.

Schools done for Locky for 2009, so excited, Love school holidays, his teacher did recieve a homemade pressie, even if it was made a the last minute and I may have cheated just a little bit ;0) - only a little though.
I raided the shelfs at Wednesdays Wishes and made up one of the Christmas Tree kits. So only a bit ;0)

Now I just got to make one for myself,,,,,maybe in time for next Christmas ;0)

I joined a 1 for 1 Christmas present Swap on Arty Oz and recieved an Art Doll fridge magnet form Bevlea (hope you don't mind me sharing)

I love the little details she added.

Where did the time go again???

OMGoodness the year has flown in,,
I guess you could say I'm working fulltime once more, well more than fulltime really. Wednesdays Wishes is going really well, we've designed some more new Creative Project Kits and we've also put some more products on the shop Max and I like to use in our creating on there also. We growing and enjoying most of the process that goes along with a new business.
I still haven't set up a space to create in the new house, but hopefully that will change this week. I miss my space :0(
Life is plodding along as normal in the Underwood household. Locky finishes yr 6 soon, my goodness, were is my little boy gone,,, come back!!!
Miss Erin is across the world exploring and will return to warmer weather here in a couple of weeks after a 6 week trip to the US and Canada. Her and Brenton in Toronto.
Something tells me this is only the start of the 'Travel Bug' for her.
Liam is enjoying his new work toy,,,much to mum's little pangs of envy.

This Boy

Turned 21 last weekend.

Where has the time gone, I can't believe it.
And to add to that it only feels like last week we were celebrating Erin's 21st.
It was a great night, which ended about 10.30 - 11pm at our house (which suited me just fine, oh and the neighbours I'm sure LOL) as the party people boarded a party bus to take them into the city to party on.
Thought I'd share some pics of the night. I must warn you though, it is near impossible for me to get a serious shot of Liam and when him and his friends get together,,, there's no hope at all. Their great kids and great fun, but I'm afraid to say, I don't know how they can consume so much alcohol in one night, mind you there was a fair few of them there. Who am I trying to kid,,,, they drink far to much.

I don't have real good photos of this trio to share, but hopefully you can get some inspiration. These were in the latest Scrapbook Creations and sometimes it's hard to see the details on the pages of a mag.

I love to use Layers in my work, I also love collage and this combines both. And the best thing about these two techniques is that if you make a mistake or don't like what you've done you can cover it up, hey even by pulling something off you don't like, you never know you may discover you like whats left behind.

Don't you just love how our kids can snap away with the camera and quite often get some great shots of themselves. I discovered these photos of Erin, she took of herself, on the puter and loved them. The only trouble was it took me ages to find a paper I liked to go with them. So thank you Graphic 45, lol.

I tried to make the next pics part of the last post but mucked it all up and ended deleting them to start again later.
Max and I did a class at Made with Memories a couple of weeks back and the girls produced some beautiful fibrelicious(Max's name for a folder she designed and made a while back) inspired journals, I thought I'd share.
It was such a relaxing class, thanks girls we had a great day.

More Sneak Peeks

Well what a month or so, it's been and hasn't it just flown in. OMGosh, time flies and I know I always say that, but it does,,,,
Life in the Underwood household has been a bit topsy turvy, moving house, with something like 18days notice threw us into a spin (renting's a *&#@&) and we've downsized dramatically, so I'm still not organised and I'm still finding places for things to live. We've actually used the roof space to store some things and we've not done that for a long time, I just hope when it comes time to move again we remember that we have stuff up there.
I don't have a creative space ATM. Well I do have a room but it's not organised yet, so that is starting to get to me a little as I've had no time and space to create,,,That's my food for the soul, my meditation. There's nothing like picking up a paint brush or playing with paper and getting totally lost in your creating, you forget about everything else that is going on in the world, I love it!!

It's the last day of the school holiday 2 week break, it's back to school and routien tomorrow. So there goes my sleep-ins in the morning, the best part of the holidays.
Rick, Locky and myself were lucky enough to spend 9days in bali these holidays,,, Oh gosh... my first time and I LOVED it. It just wasn't long enough. Poor Locky got sick towards the end so our planned trips of bike riding through the some villages (down hill, so Rick assured me)tasting fruit and spices and seeing how village life is, along with white water rafting and an elephant ride, didn't come to fruition, theres always next time, although I don't think Locky will be heading back there anytime soon, not nice for his first experience outside of Australia.

I really wanted to visit some Temples while there, lucky enough we did this early in the trip.

Long time between posts as usual.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all you wonderful girls for your well wishes, your blog posts and all round 'spreading of the word' your friendship and support for mine and Max's new venture has been unbelievable. Its all still very exciting. The Creative Kits have gone off!!!! We will be restocking some of the 'sold out' ones along with sharing some brand new ones, this coming week. The Art Moulds will be back in stock this week also, along with some more little surprises.

So sorry for the delay girls, we got 18 days notice to move and this included having to find a new home. OMGoodness, the pressure, so everything creative got put on hold for the last couple of weeks. We also ended up with no home phone or internet for over a week so that was interesting. Thanks Max for posting the below post for me *mwah*.
The 'must have's' which includes the kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, laundry etc have been organised, but you wouldn't think so if you walked into the house right now, there is still piles of boxes around which contain books, books and more books,(Rick loves books and finds it very hard to part with any)and other boxes which contain all my very important creative bits and pieces ;0) and I know if I got rid of some of it I would surely need it one day,,,,, you never know??? LOL

I used one of those random number generators on the net to give me the winner of the RAK, it was #14 Elisa,,,,, Hooray!!! WTG!! I will get that off to you real soon. I wanted to copy the results from the website but it wasn't happening for my technology challenged brain,,,but here is the link

On the creative front prior to the packing and moving was a little slow but I've got some big news real soon???
I was lucky enough to have a couple of projects featured in the last couple of Stamping and Papercraft mags, the photographers did an amazing job and the articles look fantastic,,, thanks guys.

Moving House

Hi everyone,

Max here on the request of Audrey. She said to say a huge thank you for all your lovely comments, and that they have been very much appreciated.

So where is Audrey you might ask.........well the Underwoods are moving house at the moment, they have no computer, no internet, she can't find any school uniforms and even the cats are prooving hard to find. She has stuff spread from Joondalup to Connolly and there are boxes and piles of stuff EVERYWHERE!

She is sorry to say she hasn't done the draw for the RAK yet, actually I have the RAK at home so it wouldn't get packed in a box and not see the light of day for a couple of years, I tell ya how can one person have so much crap, I mean stuff, I mean great stuff, I mean treasures!! But hey sneaky brain working here I wonder if I could sell it to the highest bidder, or even pretend I don't have it....now that would be fun.....mini book, what mini-book??????...

No in all seriousness, the real reason for this post is to say thank you for your comments and to let you all know that as soon as Audrey gets sorted she will work out the RAK and get it posted in the mail.

Pay it Forward

I've never done this on my blog before, so here goes. I was lucky enough to win a beautiful bracelet from Davinia recently and have been meaning to 'pay it forward', with some of my creations.
This one I did a while back for Aussie Dares I had to brighten the photos a little so you could see them better, so it's not so bright IRL. It's a little house shaped book in brighter colors than I've been using lately, themed 'Birds of a Feather', a little bit of Art for Art's sake as the K&Co paper inspired me and I meant to add more quotes but as usual time got away from me, you could undo the sides and add more pages or add the quotes I never got to.

So I guess the way to go is; Leave a comment, it doesn't matter where you are from and I will draw a number next week.

Well that nasty Flu bug hit our house last week (just your common winter flu,,,,)yuck. Locky spent the whole week off school and Rick spent half the week off work. Not nice at all. And lucky me,,,(not) I picked up a cold,, of some sort,,,this week, nasty at night at the moment,,, can't stop coughing.
But we've just got to soldier on hey?? No time for Mum to get sick in the house,, LOL

So last week was a challenge, with sick boys in the house, classes to teach and kits to organize, but,,, the show must go on 'as they say'.

Max and I had a lovely little class at Scrapbook Central on Wednesday night where we taught this

This one is beautiful and you will learn a heap of techniques you can use on other projects. You also construct the storage box from scratch. The box is ideal for Cuttlebug storage file pages, an album or much more.

We had a day out on Friday in Rockingham at Made with Memories, these classes are always so much fun, we did three in one day.

'Soar Canvas', it measures 10cm x 10cm and is made using a thick edge canvas. The cost of this one is a little dearer because of the width of the canvas and Australia Post charges.

And this one, 7cm x 7cm art box.

What a week, I have to thank the universe though,,, I've had a great week and choc o block full of creativity. It's been a while since I've had a rush of creativity, that I had to grab a pen and paper to jot the ideas down, you know, mid one project, another comes to mind. I love it!! Will share some peek asap.

Here's a project from a little while back, it was part of an article of Scrapbook Creations about Glitter. Now those that know me, know I hate Glitter. Yep !! Hate it.
Well,,,, I hate working with it, but love the look of it. So it's a Love,,,, Hate, Hate, hate, relationship. LOL

It's a little hard to tell in the photo but both sides of the piece have glitter on it and the chipboard letter also.

It's the weekend here in Australia,,, yippee!!
This is a quick post to let you know our new kits are out,(see store front on the left hand side) we gave the tiles a miss this week but have had lots of people say they missed out on some kits and would like them. So we've decided we might make some of the previous kits again. If you are interested in any, drop us an email and we will let you know if we can re do that kit.

Just playing with these little guys, I made. Nests!! There about 2cm wide and this one is propped on a Collections Box, painted with Distress Crackle paint and some Bird dictionary paper.

the week flew in. It's a bit scary really, how time moves so fast.

The kits went out yesterday, so keep an eye on the post girls and thanks so much for your support.

So all in all it was a very productive week.
Got to admit though I'm not real happy that the cleaner hasn't come this week, I'll have to give her a call, the housework is piling up,,, not happy,,,Oh' that's right,, I'm the cleaner,,, LOL. Ok, off to do some domestic chores, have a wonderful weekend.

Anothe Fun Class

Last weekend saw another huge class, 'Shabby Chic Wall Canvas', at Made with Memories, one of the newest Scrapbooking shops here in Perth. It's a beautiful store and the girls there, including the girls that take our classes, are just gorgeous.

The fun(not) started on Friday, with preparation. We pre-made the frames, you should of seen my dining table Friday night, the stacks were 12 high.

What a Week...

You might want to grab a cuppa, this could be long???
It's been all go in the Underwood household, starting with last weekend.

Erin and I had an awesome night last Saturday. We went to the P!nk concert here in Perth.

We did the girly thing before hand, hair, make-up, ect and the camera was going crazy, lots of those self-holding the camera shots, some disastrous, some not. You should have seen the mess in the bathroom afterwards??

Locky and Rick, didn't want to miss out on the fun either. Poor Shadow got in on the action whether he wanted to or not LOL.

P!nk, she knows how to put on a show, she is brilliant live. We didn't have the best possie, but that didn't stop us dancing the night away.

This blew me away! These girls wind and twisted themselves in these fabric ropes, with no safety ropes and put on the most spectacular performance. At one stage, P!nk (on the pale pink rope) is lowered through a gap on the stage floor and comes back up again soaked in water, goes into a twist, unravels, with the water spinning off her, it was unreal.

Rock on!!! (or whatever they say LOL)

Be afraid, be very afraid LOL

It was Ricks Birthday the next day, Sunday. He said it was one of his best Birthday's. He got to do one of the things he likes to do best, play Fantasy board games so we did this all afternoon.

I am being blessed at the moment with a period of peace in the home. Where things seem to be going smoothly for all of us, IYKWIM. So allow me a little bragging :0)

Erin's working full time and doing a spot of modeling in her spare time. She had another shoot this week.

Liam's been doing a heap of filming. He needed some practice shots of some technique he uses (sorry I've forgotten what he called it)so he asked if he could do some arty shots with my work, so I helped him set up a few displays around the garden.

I'll try and pop a little gadget of some of what he does including the video he shot in the photos above, on the sidebar to the left, if you want to check it out. The one of the Audrey's Art is a little quick on the close up shots, but I love it, the music he used and the fact that he took the time to do it for his mum.
For those who are a little technically challenged like me - if you click on the video, press play, as soon as the video starts press pause and let it load (the gray bar goes fully across the lower section on the screen), then press play again to watch the whole video without it jumping.

Little Locky, who's not so little anymore (I had to get him some new school shoes, men's size 7, at 11 years old??) is plodding along happily as usual.
In this photo, Locky and his best mate Zac having the last swim of the season recently, which if you ask me should of been taken a few weeks ago.

CRAZY!!!
Just like it is in our household sometimes and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Believe it or not I have more on this week but it's taken me so long to do this post so far (in between hanging out washing ect)that I best give you a break and pop back in a day or so with some more.

It's Sunday morning, it's a long weekend here in WA, the house is silent and I've just put the kettle on to make a cuppa. All is good in the Underwood house.
As usual I've been busy, seems to be the story of my life of late, it's a good busy!! If there is such a thing. LOL

New Classes

Max and I have some new classes coming up, just check the side bar for info or click on the places I teach to view their timetables. I am working on a better way to display dates ect, so bare with me.
Tommorrows Memories are celebrating their 5th birthday,this week, 'Happy Birthday', so pop over there to see what they are up to.
They came up with a great idea to help raise funds for breast cancer research.
For a gold coin donation you could purchase a little tag kit to decorate as you liked and return to the shop, to be put together with other returned tags, forming a art piece for the shop. I can't wait to see what the end result is, with every ones wonderful artwork pieces displayed together. Hopefully I'll be able to share some pics as I'm off there tonight for a class.

Well if you haven't guessed who got into my blog,,,, Max did LOL Thank goodness she didn't get to carried away,,LOL. Naaa!! I got her to do a post for me, we were so excited about out kits that I had to share and we don't seem to be getting a lot of time out of our internet,,, The download fairies hit again and as usual no-one in the house is responsible. Rick at one staged thought that maybe our net security stuff (very technical word)was being used or got into by neighbors maybe,,,, I'll leave it for him to sort out, I had a little bit of a 'woh is me' moment,,,well actually maybe if a little kid moment, or both,,, You may need to use creative visualization here,, LOL. I said, not quite stamping my feet,,, "it's not fair!!, I don't get on the computer much,,,and when I do, we seem to be shaped!! it's just not fair".(picking bottom lip off the floor. All is good now, but for how long,,, don't know.

I just want to thank everyone who purchased and wished us luck with our kits, the first lot went off with a blast. Sorry for those that missed out. We are working on more, so stay tuned.

Last weekend we had a class at SFTH, it was huge, it ran over both day and the girls came out with a beautiful piece of work, learning a ton of techniques (I hope???).

More messy fun!!! Unfortunately, you do a class with me involved, you are bound to get messy,,,,,

We kept the girls going non stop except for maybe a bit of Lunch,,,, Oh we're hard task masters,,,,,

What a week

Well last week would have to have been my busiest in a long time.
Classes, classes, classes.

What a blast though.
Had a huge day at Made With Memories, with three classes, which made for a long day but well worth while. I'm raging I didn't get any shots of the girls creations :0( to share,, sorry girls. There was dancing, singing, the works. God only knows what incriminating photos may be out there, LOL. Now in mine and Max's defense it had been a long day and the sugar must have clicked in and when that song 'all the single ladies', comes on, we just can't help it, we just have to pull out the dance moves.

Max and I were asked by Luise from Blue Bazaar if we would like to design a creative kit in time for National Scrapbooking Day. Well we did it, our first kit!!!
There are a limited number available so if you are interested then head on over Here. There's also the option to just purchase the instructions, although the kit has heaps of products in it and there will be plenty left over to play with at the end. The kit also includes full instructions, with photos.

Peeks of some of the girls work from the 3x3 Canvas class at the end of March. I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed the class. They got to choose what style canvas they wanted, so there is a mix of Shabby Chic and Vintage tones. I loved how they all turned out.

Be warned it's very hard to stay clean when you come to one of our classes.

Been Productive!!

We had a birthday in the house!
Locky turned 11. (Where has the time gone) :0(
We now have another budding film director in the house as he got a video camera for his birthday, mind you he had to put part of his own savings towards it.
He had a couple of friends sleep over to celebrate,, but I don't think there was to much sleep involved,,,

Locky out for the count at about 11.30am the morning following the sleep over(had to be quick with the camera and my little machine doesn't really like taking shots indoors)

His mate Sean out for it on the other couch at the same time.

Hope you all had a wonderful break over the Easter. I did!! Still got the non Easter Bunny believers up at the crack of dawn for the egg hunt. Well actually Easter Bunny whispered in my ear at the crack of dawn 'we better do the hunt before the sun melts the eggs'. Now we can't have melted chocolate in this house. LOL

For the first time in a while we got some creating done side by side.

Got a 12"x12" Tile canvas finished for my sister's birthday.

This one was done a couple of weeks back using the new Collections Inchies,,,would hate to have to cut inch square tiles out. I'm getting a thing for inchies (1"x1"squares). The tiles on the canvas above are about an inch and a half so I'm going smaller!!!!

So it's been a productive week, even got a class sample made. So I'm happy, I'd be even happier if the housework fairy paid me a visit.LOL

Been Shaped Again!!!

Shaped; computer jargon, meaning we have used up all our downloads and are waiting for the new month to start.
The computer is on a go slow :0(

This always happens to me!!! The one who uses the computer the least! LOL I've been told by the boys that it will be back to normal by midnight tonight.
Apparently I have 35mins to upload some pics before the computer runs slow again so here goes. Less talk more pics.
I didn't get time to take a lot of good pics of the samples made from the new Collections products for SIA 2009, really only got sneak peek shots, when I get better shots I will share again.

Well SIA has come and gone. What a huge few weeks Julie Max and Myself have had. I think I'm going to sleep well tonight. (that's if I can turn my busy creative brain down to get some sleep). I know we have had some of you hanging out to find out what we have been up to.

I met some beautiful people at SIA, some very creative souls, some old friends, got the chance to put some faces to names I knew. It was fantastic. Our feet hit the ground full speed as soon as we landed in Sydney, we got straight to work.

Finally some news. Max and I have been creating up a storm. We are now officially teaching classes around Perth and beyond. We only just decided this a couple of weeks ago, mainly because what we were planning, has to go on hold until after the end of this financial year. Its all good though.
So if you like what you see on our blogs, ask your local paper craft store if they have any of our classes in the pipe line. Over the next couple of weeks we will post where you can find us. Or you can always pop me an email.

You know what this means though????????????? I don't have much eye candy to share, because everything I've been creating is for classes and for Julie from Collections.(although a sneak peek here and there wouldn't be a bad idea). I think her nick name might have to be,,,,,,,,, 'the Queen of Chipboard' LOL. Her new products to be release at

SIA

at the end of this month in Sydney are brilliant, they inspire me so much, you've got to see them. She has popped a couple of peeks on her blog.

We certainly have been spending night and day together, I've been there so much, that Pippy my loyal toy poodle comes too, she's been there so many times now that she knows here way around which is no big deal, except she is blind and mostly deaf and doesn't bump into things. It has been a blast, even though we are exhausted, we will be back at it on Monday.
Well I babbled on a bit,,,,,,,,,,, not as much as Max though. *smile*

Still Full Speed Ahead

Just a quick post to Hi,,,,,,,,,,'Hi'!!!!!!!!!
Working my butt off at the moment. It's still all good, exciting really, so each time I feel tiredness and motivation creeping in, I nudge my way forward.
Apparently there is a buzz around that we are (Max and Myself) opening a shop,,, that would be a dream come true but alas it isn't so. So that rumor can be put to rest :0)

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Times flying again,,,, I've been so busy, creatively, so it's a good thing.
Max and I've been working on new classes, so stay tuned for when and where, I've been making samples to take to SIA.
My domestic Goddess is on holiday, but poor thing, she will have her work load cut out for her when she returns, LOL.
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of new creations to share, but will definitely have some sneak peeks very soon. Thought I would share one of the pages from my 'She' journal. Mmmmm,, may have to think about doing this as an online class, let me know what you think??

And these shots are of Suzanne's journal completed, who took the class with me a few months back. It was brilliant to see how different all the girls books looked as they were coming together at the end. I absolutely loved teaching this class. For those other girls who took the class I would love to see some of your photos of your beautiful journals.

Well Collections chipboard tiles seem to be popping up everywhere of late, I know I'm obsessed with them. They were the perfect gift to give a Christmas.
These were some more I made for teachers and friends

I did a class on them just recently and the canvases the girls finished up with were amazing.
This one was done by Amie, it would be easy 48" long,,,,,Of course Amie had to do extra tiles for homework so she could create her masterpiece on the last day.

A quick Birthday Card for Mum, thank goodness for the Cuttlebug. ;-)

But what a blast we had. I hadn't laughed as much in ages, no wait!!!,,,, that rendition of Beyonce's 'All the Single Ladies' Max, Mel and I did last week, including dance moves, could of earned someone some decent blackmail money. Thank goodness, there is no photographic evidence.
Some retail therapy was in order last Thursday. The best sort of retail therapy must be the one you don't actually hand over your cash or card and I don't think I've been more excited about shopping in a long time LOL.
I can't believe I admitting this??? We went bulk rubbish pile shopping,,,, You should of seen the treasures we found. It's amazing what people throw out. We really only wanted some wire, a door knob or two and maybe a little chicken wire. But there was just to much to leave behind.

See I knew we'd find some chicken wire.

Is an online group I am a member of, there is some amazing creative girls on there. I joined a swap recently and the theme was 'Collections 1 for 1'. A perfect one for me as I have a little obsession with all of the products. The idea was you make for only 1 person. This is what I received from Greta.
It's a magnetic clip board and is proudly displayed on my fridge. Don't know if I can bring myself to use it yet though.

Long time no post!!

We got 'Shaped', computer jargon for my boys downloading over our quota of downloads with our internet plan. So very frustrating!!!!! For 2 weeks we had a very slow internet. I tried up loading, but it was taking forever and I eventually gave up.
So I have a tonne of creativity to share.

My heart goes out to all of you touched by the bush fires on the east side of Australia. Take Care and I wish you luck rebuilding your lives.
There are amazing photo's out there, some I was absolutely amazed by, some just brought me to tears. I happen to find this one,,,

Imagine all those precious possessions lost, the photographs, the memories, it's almost to much to think about. My heart goes out to you.
This tragedy has definitely brought out the best in Australians, if you are in a position to donate you can do it through the Red Cross HERE

Well I have spent all day so far, updating my blog. You will notice a few changes on the side and I even put a load of new images on Slide, some old, some not so old. I didn't really realize how much I didn't have on there and I didn't even get them all up, oh well another day.

It's the final days of the school holidays, it's been a pretty quiet lot of holidays this year. We usual go down south every January, but not this year. So Locky had to be contented staying near home, thank goodness for the pool and play dates with his friends.

Even Pippy is Supervising. It amazes me what that dog can pick up on, considering she is blind (we think she see shapes and outlines?) and deaf. Mind you she makes so much noise when the kids are in the pool I'm sure I'm going to go deaf, not to mention the neighbours,,,lol.

Locky and Zac, these guys have been solid friends since Kindy.

Near impossible to get a serious photo any more :0)

Happy Australia Day

Mother nature has gone all out for the celebration of Australia day here in Perth, it's about 30 degrees at the moment and perfect for celebrating the day.
The Underwood house is very quiet with the older kids off doing their thing and Rick, Locky and myself are celebrating in style,,, LOL,, by staying inside in the air conditioning.
Where do the days go,,we are nearly at the end of the month,,, my goodness, one more week and school goes back for 2009. It been quite an eventful couple of weeks in our house, Erin received news that she got into WAPA (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts) at Edith Cowan University to study Events Management, the business side of performing arts, she is very excited and we are so proud of her, this has led her to the decision that home would be the best place to be while studying,,, so we have a full house again as she has come home,,, joy, joy!!! *s*. I love the idea of having her home. But I'll be back to worrying, watching the time on weekends when she is out partying with friends and I'm lying in bed thinking, is she safe, ect, you know all the Mum worries. I look forward to the good things like curling up on the couch watching movies, her cooking for us, I hate cooking, she loves it. You know all the girly things. :0) Locky adores her and she has lots of time for him, they joke around heaps and she is quite happy to bring him places, although I think he has learnt that going shopping with her is hard work and he's not to keen on that any more,,, lol.

Liam has finally found a job he loves,, and is more on the path to his future career, I really admire him for keeping his heart set on where he wants to be in the future. He is employed as a freelance camera man. He is now shooting adverts for an online company here in Perth. He is either given a script or makes a script, shoots the ad, edits its and programs it for the internet. He is also shooting footage of night spots here in Perth for promotional purposes.

I think he is pretty clever, but hey I'm his Mum.

Lazy Day

It's 11.45 and I've just had breakfast,,,, this is what I love about the school holidays,, sleep in's,, although I needed it. I've had poor little Locky in my bed for 2 nights now. Last night was not so bad but I don't think I would of got much more than 3 hours sleep the night before that. He picked up a stomach bug somehow and spent that night very close to the sick bowl and very close to his Mum. :0)

Thought I share some creativity.
This book is what the 'She' class journal was based on. It was under construction when I got asked to participate in a 'Top Ten' article in the last Scrapbook Creations, on journals. Here's a closer look, called White Delight a work in progress.

We Are Australian

I love this song, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. The theme this month for my Helmar DT project was 'something to celebrate Australia Day' on Jan 26th. I loved doing this canvas, it was all about a bit of Art for Art sake. I love the freedom of the design team as I get to use the variety of Helmar products, including Scrapdots, Acid Free Glue and one of my favorites at the moment, the 2 Step Crackle, with all sorts of other products.
I Google searched the lyrics of the song for the background of the canvas.

The image is of Locky and my nephew fishing off the beach in Busselton last year and transferred onto the canvas using 'Sheer Heaven', this specialty paper gives the best image transfer I have seen so far.

I played with the Helmar, Texture Effects, getting this result using Glimmer Mist Stencils.

The crackle was achieved using Helmar 2 Step Crackle.

The colors of the canvas, the Collections chipboard letters, bird and my hands on the day, were a result of playing with various Glimmer Mists and Radiant Rain Daubers.

One Whole Month

Well the whole month of December, flashed past, gone!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and my wish for you is that 2009 be a happy, healthy one for you and the one's you hold dear.

The lead up to Christmas was hectic. It just came to quick, crept up silently behind me,,, LOL.
Christmas day was exhausting, don't get me wrong, I loved being with my family, but it always seems to be a chore for me. This year my sister convinced my folks to have a non traditional Christmas meal and go with cold meat and salads, beautiful salads and us girls all chipped in, even Erin, she's a great cook, must take after her Auntie, my sister is a great cook too. This definitely made the cooking preparations easier, but we decided we would go back to the traditional feast next year. My sister and I take turns having at each others house and those who follow my blog might remember it was at my house last year and in a moment of insanity I suggested we have it here again,,,, LOL. So dinner it was for 23 people,,, insane :0)

We had some friends from Queensland stay for a couple of weeks, arriving on Christmas Eve. So Christmas morning was Loud, with 5 boys under the age of 10 and 4 more that sounded like they should be, us girls were a bit out numbered at 3, 4 counting Pippy the dog.

I recycled last years ceiling decorations by adding some more white cane stars and reindeer. (The table was centered underneath)

And went with traditional red and green for the table.

'She' Party, I mean 'Tea party'

What a delightful, evening myself and the ladies enjoyed on Wednesday. (trying on my most posh of voices,,,, *giggle*)
It was the last of the classes for my 'She' journal. I have to say it has been the most enjoyable class, the girls were all beautiful and their journals were inspirational. I brought my camera along, but guess what? the batteries went flat and I didn't get all the pics I wanted :0(
It was just like tea at Nanna's.
Miss Mel brought along her beautiful teacups and teapots.

Tea taste's much better in a china cup. And there was plenty of sweet treats to go round.

I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Wednesday evening.

I had intended to get photo's of all the girls journals but with the batteries going flat I wasn't able to. I will share later, it's off to work now, have a great day.

Just popping in to say Hi!!

Hi!
It's Sunday evening here and all is quiet in the house, Rick and Locky are out and Liam is up stairs, I can hear the occasional roar of some computer game he's playing but other than that all is quiet. I'm surrounded by my ever faithful pets.

Shadow, who's insisting on sitting on my lap and is demanding I put my arm down from typing at the keyboard so he has a pillow to rest his head on.

Tom, who was practically sitting on the keyboard 5mins ago, right in front of the monitor, making it very hard to type. I've fed him now so he's happy on the floor.

And beautiful old Pippy who I adore and is never far from my side, she's snoring her head off on her beanbag next to me.

Not to much creating this week, thought I'd share this though, it's my Art Tree, I'm still working on it and have been for a while, one of those projects 'For Art Sake', so it gets shoved to the side often. It's was inspired by the talented Jenny, when I seen the one she created.

Jenny also inspired me to make some birds nest, this has now caused a little obsession with me atm (thanks Jen) :0), wire work, I can't get enough of it, especially bird cages.
This is one of my earlier ones, which was a class at Scraptivate a couple of weeks ago.

Well typing is getting a little hard as Shadow is still insisting on been loved and wants my arm, yes I've tried to get rid of him but anyone who owns a cat will know how insistent they can be,,,

My project this month was inspired by my friend Viv and a little gift she gave me some time back.

I love the vivid colours she uses in her art, blues especially, as blue is my favorite colour.
