It's Official!!

So the secret is out!! And such a nice way to see the new year in. I feel so grateful to be part of an awesome and creative world wide Design Team for 2020 at  49 and Market
I'm looking forward to stretching my mojo a lot more than it's been stretched in the last couple of years and playing along side such a talented bunch of girls. So stay tuned for lots of sharing. I'll do my best to list all the girls blog address real soon in the side bar. But for now Here they are,,,,

Retreat Scrapping

I have a special group of friends who I regularly attend a retreat weekend with. I love these weekends away. It's food for the soul and some replenishment of my mojo. 

During a recent weekend I needed a little mojo infusion and had a play with some 49 and Market paper, die cuts and chipboard. I'm pretty happy with the results :o)

This little cherub is the granddaughter of  a friend, the photo alone was all the mojo I needed to scrap.

Isn't that little spray of flowers and the ones dotted about the layout just gorgeous, I have to say I'm in love with the die cuts from 49 and Market. So fine and precise. And the best bit of all,,,,,, NO FUSSY CUTTING!!!!

Yep,, that was another long rest from blogging. The creating slowed dramatically especially as I was working nearly full-time. That and the normal everyday life/family/work commitments has a way of interrupting the flow of mojo. So lets use this analogy - I fell off the path ever so slightly into a little ditch on the side but am now crawling my way out, brushing off the mud and grass clippings, ready to skip down the path again.

Circle Journals

I'm having such a good time creating in this circle journal round with Scrapping Clearly 

This is another of last months entries.

This theme was a challenge, 'Self Portrait', in the end it's my favourite so far.

 Theme 'What Makes me Happy'

This one was a technique based journal and we had to do a tag with the instructions for a technique. I tried to think outside the box and did an oldie but what I think is a goodie for journal pages.

To achieve a similar look the idea is to cover the pages in a collage to match the theme. I chose 'woman' as my theme so I found as many images, words & stamps and glued and stamped them to the journal page. I then cut some shapes in card and chippy and glued them down also.
I stamped the large face stamp on some tissue and cut it out. Glue it down, making sure all the image had glue on it. Covered the remaining pages in glue and stuck tissue paper from an old pattern over the glue cutting away excess tissue.
I highlighted the cut out pieces under the tissue with metallic rub on's and stuck some mica flakes here and there. I added a chippy circle to Emphasise the eye and letter stickers for the quote.

Can you tell I love the quotes for the 'She' book ;)

Just sharing this month's layout for Scrap the Girls

This month's moodboard and inspiration was made just for me I'm sure. I love these colours. To be very honest it ended up challenging me to the last minute really. There was an never ending creative block in the house this month. I sifted through all my papers and that's a lot, I've been scrapping for about 15 years. I've had clean outs in that time but you know how you keep those special papers, ones that you just love but never seem to work when you pull them out, yeah them. And the newer more recent one's I just had to have. Well would you believe I didn't have one paper I could use that I liked or was the right shade I had in mind. 

Anyhoo three layout attempts later I waded through the two files marked 'Scrap Patterned Paper' and found some matches so this entire layout is from my scrap file (did you like that pun :D)

Here's my take on the board.

Wish

Once I'd settled on what paper was going were I used texture paste to stencil the mandala in place.

When the paste was dry I carefully separated the edges of each paper and glued some core-creations card underneath, just letting a thin line of blue colour peep through.

I added some blue water colour pencil around the very edges of the design and blended it really well until I was happy with the hue.

Followed by placing bling on the dots and in the center of the floral designs.
