Tea Parties and Puppies
I never thought much of what I've heard people say about being a Grandmother, until I became one. I've heard it said that it's so good and so different than being a parent. Well now I'm one of those people and more than happy to let others know :) This blonde, curly haired little cherub brings Joy and Delight to my everyday. I'm not saying my three children didn't bring me the same Joy, I absolutely love each of them unconditionally. I believe that I was so busy being a mum that I didn't take the time to enjoy the little moments enough. I'm a sucker, I just about drop everything, to play, read, give my attention to Cadence, my mind may wander to what has to be done but only briefly then it's back to whatever we're up to at the time, needless to say, not much gets done around here when Missy is about and I love when she's about. :)
We decided our little fluffy dog Toby needed a playmate, so we got him a puppy, a little fur sister called Lola. It's taken a couple of weeks for him to accept that she might be staying but I think he's slowly excepting that fact. They are fast becoming friends and partners in crime. It's been a while since we had a puppy in the house and the toilet training is proving to be a bit of a problem, we'll get there and when we do, I won't miss stepping in unseen puddles of puppy pee.
Creativity wise, a little bit of spice and a little sugar. I haven't had a lot of time at the creative table. Thought I'd share this one I did a little while back, using Bolts mould.Moulds by Mel
The spice.
A Rare Moment
This is one of my two boys, Liam. I don't often get a photo of my boys, once they hit their teens it's been almost impossible. Liam's job involves using a camera so this main photo is a rarity.
I used Easycast resin mix in my moulds. I love the clarity this gets with them.
I loved doing male themed layouts and using the rich warm tones. Now if you know my work, you'll also know I love distressed, aged and RUSTY stuff. I didn't want new metal looking nuts and bolts, so these ones have been painted and rusting powder added to make them look more real.
Visit Moulds by Mel blog HERE for lots more inspirations.
Lucky for me I'm able to mix my two design team's gigs, so here's some Dusty too ;)You've got to check out what's NEW for September too.

September. Oh My Golly Gosh!!!
Isn't this year flying past?
It's the beginning of the month so my turn for a Dusty Attic post. Its a long one so you might want to grab a cuppa and a minute for yourself.
Here's my ATC for this month, the theme is 'Shabby Vintage' If you'd like to come play visit the Dusty Ning site and you'll be directed from there HERE
I try and stick to the boundaries of an ATC, (64 mm × 89 mm (2 1/2" x 3 1/2")) but in this case I may have broken the rule, ever so slightly. This ATC is made using the frame section from the Dusty French Window
The frame does over hang the card ever so slightly, maybe half a millimetre.

I mentioned a couple of posts back that I wanted to get back to the business of why I began to scrap in the first place. Memories and keepsakes that my children and now grandchildren will love to see and read about in the future or even now. I've had my older two kids ask about photos recently and to hear them say what album are they in, makes my heart flutter a wee bit and to know that all the hard work, work done with love may not go to waste. I've gone, but not completely back to getting the photos scrapped and getting the story behind those photo told, which I believe will be treasured in years to come. I'm using the WE R Memory Keepers albums and sleeves. The finished pages left in the sleeves are a little tricky to photograph, but hopefully I'll get better at that.
I've been scrapping some photos of a little zoo adventure we had recently. Now I know the main stars of the day should have been the animals but a certain Little Miss, my granddaughter Cadence and her reactions to all the animals and things around her made her my star for the day, she absolutely loved it and was so excited about everything. As usual I took a heap, well maybe a mountain of photos so there'll be a few more pages later on about our Zoo Adventure.
I'm loving all the Project Life pages I'm seeing about and admire all my scrapping buddies who are doing it. Some of my pages are along the PL style so I'm loving using a lot of Dusty chipboard on these layouts, small chippy bits and even the larger chippy bits cut down are working really well for me. I adore the new arrows Jen's come up with, their so new they don't actually have a code for them yet, if you want them just let your LSS know and when they put in their Dusty order Jen will know when they put *New Arrows* what they mean.

Other products used - Paper, stickers and card shapes by Kaiser, tags, thread, paper clips, ribbon.
Mixed amongst the get down to business pages in my albums are the more elaborate pages I still like to play with. This one is of Miss Cadence playing in a small water playground at the zoo. She loved it.
