Here in Australia the new school year begins at the end January and the begining of Febuary. My baby is Locky and he's the last of my three to go through high school, he's turning 15 and is in yr10 here in Western Australia. Although I absolutely love school holidays now that he can fend for himself, I was looking forward to him going back, just to get some routien going in my day again. I'm sure lots of you can relate to that.
Expect the first week back didn't go quite to plan as I had two sick girls in the house. Poor Erin caught a gastro bug so I had Cadence in the hope she may not catch the bug from her Mumma, but unfortunately it wasn't to be :( they both got it. Luckily Cadence got a slightly milder case but still a lot for a little bubba.
Hopefully a combination of the things below have helped keep the bugs at bayand no one else gets it,,, fingers crossed.
Onto some Creative news.
Well it's the month of love. So, so far this month my creative projects for Dusty Atticare inspired by the theme.
Of course the theme for ATC's this month is 'Love'. Here's mine.
Title - The Key to My Heart
Dusty Products Used -
Divine Divas - DA0657
Mini Hearts - DA0514
Mini Key - DA0322
Mini Flourish - DA0223
Marrakesh Trellis Small - DA0821
Navajo White Paint – DA0903
Clear Crackle Varnish - DA0900
I used organza ribbon for the tutu. I just ran a thin gathering stitch across the top and pulled the stitch in until I was happy with the fullness of the tutu. I then glued it to the waist of the small dress.
The Mini Heart was painted with the new line of Dusty Attic paints called Navajo White – DA0903 left to dry and then distressed by sanding it. I applied Clear Crackle Varnish - DA0900, another of the new products from Dusty, quite thickly to achieve the large cracks. Once the crackle was dry I add applied some LuminArt Radiant Rain dauber in Hot Cinnamon. I wiped the excess off using a damp cloth and the rest sat in the cracks. One of the best features of the Crackle is that you can apply heat to quicken the drying process and if your like me and a bit impatient, you'll love this too.
Shabby Shutters Wall Hanging
I knew when I say these shutters what I wanted to do with them and I had loads of fun doing it. The fact that this piece was made for someone special an extra dash of love was mixed into the ingredients.
