Just Perfect

Hi Audrey here once again with a layout using the beautiful Spectrum Sherbet Collection by 49 and Market. I started off with a base of pink by using Vintage Artistry Blush - Soaring Paper. I distressed the edges of each paper I used when creating the layout.

I then used the Spectrum Sherbet - Painted Foundations - Speckled piece of paper from the Spectrum Sherbet 12x12 Sherbet Foundations Pack. I cut about 1cm from the top and edge after cutting the barcode strip off. I stuck this to the base of pink showing an even border of pink.

I rolled out about an 11" strip of Spectrum Sherbet - 4" Collage Fabric Tape and stuck it to a length of white card, then trimmed it down to the 4" width of the tape so it's 4x11". I then matted that to a strip of Spectrum Sherbet - Solid - Blueberry paper from the 12x12 Sherbet Solids Pack showing a tiny border of colour and stuck this to the left of the layout, onto the Speckled paper. To the right of the tape I applied  a strip of Spectrum Sherbet - 12x12 Strawberry Lemonade Rub-on Transfer.

I trimmed my photo down to fit inside the largest size frame from Spectrum Sherbet - Tidal Wave Frame Set. I mounted the frame onto 12x12 Solid - Blue Raspberry paper from the Solids pack, then mounted my photo inside the frame so you could see a glimpse of that paper. That was then mated on a 6x8 paper in pink and then that onto Solid - Blueberry paper. I mounted the whole lot onto the layout. As usual I only applied mounting tape to the centre back of it so that I could tuck extra papers, ephemera or embellishment etc as I went, which I did. I then cut two strips of the widest lace from the Lacy Trim pack, frayed the  edges and glued it to the right of the photo, followed by some ripped fabric tape. I applied another strip of 12x12 Rub-on Transfer above this. I then proceeded to make a collection of flowers, laser cuts, ephemera bits, chipboard pieces, lace etc to the left and right of the photo until I was happy with the collection. You may also notice some coloured lace. These were bits of Lacey Trim I previously dyed to match the Spectrum Collection.

I carefully tucked a couple of Vintage Artistry Essentials - Word & shaped Clips in White amongst it. I also embossed some tags from the Spectrum Sherbet - Ephemera Bits and lightly sanded over the top of the embossing to distress it slightly. To finish off I mounted some of the circles from the ephemera bits over the circles on the Speckled paper.

Butterflies and Rainbows - Journal

Hi Audrey here once again with another journal. This one was a labour of love and has been under construction for a couple of months now but finally finished, so made with a little more love than usual as it’s one for my granddaughter who turns eleven soon. It's  made with 49 and Market’s Spectrum Collection. The cover is from an old book that matches Spectrum perfectly and the signatures inside made with lined, blank and beautifully bright Spectrum papers. She loves to write and draw so I made sure there was plenty of space for that. Pages that she can fill with ideas, drawings and 11yr old girl goodness.
Once I’d made the inside pages, I sewed the signatures to the spine of the book and lined the inside covers with Vintage Artistry Blush - Radiate and Serene papers.

I covered the stiches on the spine with Spectrum Sherbet - 4" Collage Fabric Tape adding a little pva glue for extra strength.
I then went through the journal page by page and added laser cuts and fussy cut elements along with lots and lots of rub-ons and washi tape. I've cut some pages to fit, ripped others. I made little drawing pads for other pages that can easily be replaced when full. Lots of pockets with tags that have extra paper attached and lots of hidden tucks, flips and surprises for her to explore.
The journal was made with the style of a junk journal in mind so I wanted texture added to pages also. I dyed 49 and Market's Lacey Trim to match the beautiful rainbow colours of Spectrum. It was glued, sewn, ripped and stapled to pages and tags etc. As well as tied to the spine of the journal where I added paper beads and tassels,{see video on our YouTube Channel on how to make these cute additions} along with painted charms and beads to match. These were threaded and sewn in place to form a cute little collection to dangle on the side.
Some of the other things I did inside as embellishments was to attach folded strips of washi and fabric tape stapled or stuck  to clips. Cut scraps of lace and stapled them in place
I cut up the whole fussy cut sheet from the Spectrum Sherbet - 12x12 Sherbet Classics Pack. It gave me so much more to play with.
To finish off I added painted chipboard pieces and the butterfly bauble from Wishing Bubbles and Baubles - Blush
