Beautiful Botanicals - Journal

Beautiful Botanicals!!

Be still my beating heart!. The whole collection of the NEW Curators Botanicals is just divine. AND!!! News Flash!!! If you don't know already know, the laser cuts that I always go on about in each post from 49 and Market can now be BOUGHT SEPERATE,,,, SEPERATELY,,, sorry didn't mean to yell!! 🤣 So both the New Curators Botanicals and the NEW ARToptions Avesta has the separate laser cut elements and the most beautiful Ephemera Bits to match each collection.

Here's a little sample of the Botanicals in the form or a journal. I think I've used a little bit of every new product in the range and then some! From paper to rub on transfers, fabric tape, washi, tags, ephemera.... what's a girl to do!! I needed to show you a sample of every little bit of NEW product 49 and Market has to offer in this beautiful collection.

I love creating journals and especial junk journals and that's where the inspiration for this one came from. I can't very well call it a junk journal because it's made from the most divine new stuff, but in the style of a junk journal. It's got flaps and  hidden folds here and there for journaling and lots of room to add more rub on transfers, washi tape and even a postage stamp or a strip of them for colour. Another of the newest of products from 49.

I was heading away for a couple of weeks holidays and really wanted a journal for the holiday so when my design team samples arrived I instantly knew I was going to make a journal to bring rather than buy an already made one. I sewed 3 small signatures into this journal and secured them with the new cloth tape. I then proceeded to add extra folds here and there and decorated with lots of the new stitched washi. Yeah it's cheating in a way but boy does it look good and it saved so much time. I really don't want to have to get my sewing machine out!! So look closely all that stitching in the journal,,, it just may not exactly be stitching at all 😋😉😊

I've used lots of rub on transfers throughout the journal and all the laser elements and the new Ephemera made it so easy to add embellishments throughout

There is also a little video run through of the journal to give you a bit more of an idea how to pop one together. I have added some lacey trim, muslin, tiny gold beads, lace and ribbon to finish off.

Sky Above, Earth Below, Peace Within

Hi there, here’s my ny next post for January for 49 and Market.
Fresh crisp and back to nature. Vintage Artistry Naturalist has all this and more. I created a window scene using the beautiful arched doors from the Naturalist laser cut sheet

The photos behind them is of my little piece of Zen in my back garden where my meditating gnome sits as a reminder to me to take a mindful moment to breathe & be grateful. And what a perfect quote from laser cut sheet, ‘Sky Above, Earth Below, Peace Within’.

I began by playing with positioning the Vintage Artistry Essentials Stitched Frames and the doors. Once happy I cut one frame diagonally in half, applied foam tape behind the frames and stuck one half in place to the top left and the other slightly lower to the right of where the doors will sit.

I then proceeded to place and stick the photos behind the doors, then applied two layers of foam tape to various places at the back of the doors and stuck them in place. I overlapped two frames and stuck in place with a couple of layers of foam tape. I chose laser cuts from both Vintage Artistry Naturalist & In the Leaves along with flowers to fill the frames, in front and behind them. I placed  more laser cuts on and around the doors.

To finish off I glued the quote to chipboard and cut it to fit on the door.

Wild and Free

It's Summer time here in Australia so it's a beach theme page to start off my 2022 Design Team year with 49 and Market and probably a few more to come this season. I hope it brings you some inspiration to spend some time creating.

I used the paper  Vintage Artistry Peace and Joy - Northpole as my base page because I just loved the blue colour. I matted my photos with a very slight border of  pink toned paper from the Vintage Artistry Beached 8x6 Collection pack to bring out the pink of Cadence's bathers in the photo.

Once I decided on where I wanted the photos placed I added foam tape to the centre back of each photo. I do this so that I can tuck papers, embellishments, tags etc behind the photo if I wish. I then used a collection of flowers and laser cuts to create the piece at the bottom left of the photos. Laser cuts from both Vintage Artistry Beached and Shore, Frames, Flowers, Baubles and Trinkets, Chipboard Stickers and Jute. I used lots of bits and pieces from the Vintage Artistry Ephemera Stacks to create tags and tickets to the right of the photos and the bottom right of the page. These bags of goodies come in every colour collection in the Vintage Artistry Range. I love that I can always find that little something to tuck somewhere.
