Life in Pictures - Album

It's all about Essentials for me this week. The beautiful natural tones in the Vintage Artistry Essentials Collection.
I've created a mini album, using the Foundation 2" Portrait Album in White, a blank album, made for creating. It includes 3 side flip pages, pocket pages that measure 12.5"x8.25" and lots of room for add on pages. The neutral tones of Vintage Artistry Essentials make it an easy album that I can add whatever theme photos I desire or if using as a gift the receiver can add a theme of their choice to the album at a later date.
There is pockets for tags and in this case I used Vintage Artistry Essentials - Journal Page to make my own tags. I added bits and pieces to the tags, like chipboard sticker, rub-on transfers, lace etc, They can even be pulled out and journaling or photos can be added also.
I covered the outside of the album using Vintage Artistry Everyday Lucent Ladies, positioning the three butterflies to the top right of the front. I used another strip of the same print for the spine. I also sanded the edges of Album front.
I then framed the butterflies with the frame from the Vintage Artistry Essentials - Chipboard Stickers. Positioned some frayed Lacey Trim in white and then glued the laser cuts and flowers in place.
What sets this album off is the use of  49 and Markets Foundations Portrait Pockets in white. I love the concept of these. Use them plain or as I did, cover them with your favorite paper. They are such a useful addition to albums, binders or even scrapbook pages. Each pack includes 4 pieces - 2 half pockets and 2 pocket enclosures. All scored. There is even a handy template so you can cut paper to match it made it so much easier when putting things together.
I used various pieces of Vintage Artistry Essentials paper from the 6x8 Collection to line the pockets and pages throughout the album.
Oh!! and the pockets come in landscape also.
I used laser cut pieces from the 6x8 and the 12x12 Essential Collections, along with Ephemera bits to decorate the pages. It's all about playing with placement. If it looks and feels ok, glue it down. Just remember to leave lots of spots for photos to be added later. And because it now has pockets inside, they're also a great spot for extra photos to be stored, along with other bits and bobs.
As some of you know I've been playing with paper and crafting for a few years now. I was absolutely obsessed with a little ol' machine called a Cuttlebug, well I dusted mine off (boy has it seen better days)and added some texture to the Vintage Artistry Essentials - 4x6 File Frames and loved the effect.
Once embossed I sanded the pattern and the white from underneath showed through. I inked the edges to give an even more aged effect and stuck them in place. I only added glue to a small section of the frame so a photo could be added underneath easily enough. I did this through out the album.
To finish off I added rub-on transfers and washi here and there.

Just a quick run through video of the album
